Up for auction is a beautiful postcard cover from a British or American Volunteer at the concentration camp Campo de concentracion Miranda de Ebro in Burgos Spain to Madame Rebstock in St Paul Trois France. Sender is Herbert Wilson. Written in French. In Good condition. Priced to sell.Note this was sent 4 years after the Spanish Civil war had ended and at the height of WW2. The Lincoln Battalion was the 17th (later the 58th) battalion of the XV International Brigade, a mixed brigade of the International Brigades also known as Abraham Lincoln Brigade (Spanish: Brigada Abraham Lincoln). It was organized by the Communist International with great care to conceal or minimize the communist character of the enterprise and to make it appear as a campaign on behalf of progressive democracy.
