*  Up for auction is a beautiful   censored letter sheet cover from Rudy Zion in Haifa Palestine to the International red cross in Switzerland inquiring about Leo Zion in Dusseldorf Germany. Dated December 18, 1944. In excellent condition. During WW 2 people could write the red cross in Switzerland to inquire about the whereabouts of refugees, prisoners of war, concentration camp detainees, and more. As many Jews, communists, dissidents, and other social and political undesirables disappeared into the concentration camp system in particular, inquiries to the red cross increased. rare postal history item. Note the missing person is a German Jew.
