Item Description

This Lot is a 1951 Netherlands First Day Cover bearing Set of 5 Scott #B229-233 postally Used from Gravenhage to Medan, Sumatra, Indonesia. Stamps are tied to cover by illustrated "GRAVENHAGE 12 NOV51 / DAG VAN UITGIFTE" First Day cancels. Stamps have deep rich coloring, four nice margins with slightly varied centering among the five stamps (but all nice), and excellent perforations all around. Cover itself measures approximately 191 mm x 100 mm, has lightly bent corners, nice straight edges, and front and back surfaces showing light wear from postal handling. Front of cover bears colorful cachet entitled " VOOR HET KIND 1951".
