His first work for the Scouts was for Boys' Life magazine in 1913, when he was just starting out as a young illustrator. His first calendar painting was in 1925 upon which these stamps are based. Over the decades, he created many paintings for Boys' Life, the official BSA calendars (starting in 1925 for Brown & Bigelow), and other BSA materials.
