Paul Nestor Carlin (August 25, 1931 – April 25, 2018) served as the 66th United States Postmaster General from January 1, 1985, to January 7, 1986. Prior to this role, he built a career within the United States Postal Service (USPS), holding positions such as labor and employee relations specialist, chief of the eastern postal region, and chief of the central postal region. His tenure as Postmaster General was marked by efforts to address financial deficits within the USPS, including implementing salary reductions for top executives and delaying certain stamp issuances.
