Item Description

Single 25-qintar Double-headed Eagle stamp printed by the Mirdite Republic (a.k.a. Mirdita Republic) in MNH, F-VF condition. No flaws noted. The gum is immaculate & shiny, the stamp is crisp, its color is bright & it has a black ink overprint (i.e. 'TAKSE'). The stamp was not authorized by Albania, was not put into public use and is unlisted in the Scott & Michel catalogues. Flat plate printing, water-activated gum, imperforate. The Self-government of Mirdita, officially the Republic of Mirdita, was a short-lived self-administered republic in northern Albania that existed between July 17 and November 20, 1921.
