Item Description

Buy Canadian. The exchange rate for all major currencies is currently very attractive. This is an unlisted variety of SG125 for Electro II, Position 60. Per the BSAP Check list. First state: 1a - Top Frame bulges outwards; 1b - Top Right Corner, sharp spike generally projecting to the NE (Variable); 1c - Top Left Frame thinned. The bottom right quarter was retouched as Second State 2a, resulting in six reatures: i - Right half on bottom frame ragged; ii - The letters of PENNY ragged and abnormal; iii - The borders of the Right Value Tablet wider than normal at many points; iv - The numeral of the RVT, the toe of which is shortened, slopes upwards from right to left, the serifs are much thinner than usual and the curve from the right serif to the back of the numeral is abnormal; v - The shading around the RVT is thin and uneven; vi - The lower part of the Right Frame is ragged.

The catalogue value for varieties of similar SG125 stamps in 2017 was Australian $40 in the Australian Commonwealth Specialists' Catalogue. At that time the Australian and Canadian dollars were approximately at par.
