The Claude C. Ries Chapter - a motley crew of Southern California FDC collectors - gathers every summer for a bountiful BBQ at the home of club member Ron Sobel. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Ice Cream and Watermelon are the staples!That's Ron and his lovable pup cooking burgers by headlamps during the solar eclipse of 2017.
This cover was given out to attendees of the annual summer get-together and bears the Solar Eclipse stamp with the official pictorial first day of issue cancel.
