Note that this stamp has wrinkles or light creases (see 2nd photo). But good appearance, with very nice BRUNEI 16 JUL 1895 cds. 

The 1895 Star and Crescent issue is often considered a local, as it was not valid for postage outside of Brunei.  Long recognized by Stanley Gibbons, Scott now lists it in its "Classic" catalog.  A 1973 booklet by famous philatelist Robson Lowe (3rd photo) states that "erroneously, these stamps have been called "locals", but the Star & Crescent stamps are the first general issue of the Brunei Post Office"

I have many others from this issue to list, primarily used, which are scarcer.  And a full sheet or two.

Scott #A10, catalog value $130.00 in the 2016 Scott Classic Specialized.   

Stanley Gibbons #10, catalog value €110.00 in 2010 (when the pound was worth a lot more).
