Item Description
A nearly perfectly centered and extremely fine mint OG HR single of the 2C GREEN (YELLOW GREEN IN UNITRADE) WET PRINTING ADMIRAL COIL FROM THE 1911-1928 ADMIRAL ISSUE, PERFORATED 12 HORIZONTALLY. Printed on vertical wove paper measuring 0.004" thick with no visible mesh. The gum is a smooth, shiny cream, characteristic of the late wet printings made after 1918. Has the tiny nick in the outer frameline at lower left that is characteristic of all genuine examples, as discussed by Marler in his book on the Admiral Issue. In addition, this example has a small line inside the "N" of "Canada". 2017 Unitrade values a VF-75 OG single at $120. However an example of this calibre should be worth much more than the VF price, as examples this well centered are seldom seen. The stamp offered here grades 94 as follows:
Centering/Margins: 64/70
Paper Freshness: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Impression: 5/5
Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
Perforations: 10/10
