Interesting piece of history offered here. This is a 1927 cheque in the amount of $6,000.00 from the Union Bank of Canada (overstamped Royal Bank) as the Royal Bank had taken over the Union bank a couple of years prior but they obviously still had a stock of cheques to use up. This one has a total of 21 excise stamps cancelled on the back consisting of 20 x 4 cent excise and 1 x 20 cent excise stamp.IMPORTANT Canada Post now requires all goods being shipped outside of Canada to be shipped by Tracked Small Packet service.
