Item Description

A very well centered, fresh and very fine  NH single of the 4C VIOLET QUEEN ELIZABETH II COIL STAMP FROM THE 1953 KARSH ISSUE.  Printed on smooth vertical wove paper that only shows vertical mesh when held up to the light, and and giving a dull reaction under ultraviolet light. Shiny yellowish cream coloured gum. 2015 Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single at $4.50. However, singles grading above VF-80 are scarce, and worth more. The stamp offered here grades 84 as follows:
