Avro arrow stamps plate blocks of 4 mint complete these are canadian stamps celebrating the silver dart and the a v roe cf-105 on the occasion of the fiftieth year of manned flight in canada. There are four corner plate blocks from plate#1 of the 1959 printing by the canadian bank note company. At the post office counter these could only be obtained by buying four sheets of 100, since the plate actually had 400 stamps. By the time the stamp was released, diefenbaker had cancelled the arrow and the post office has never, from that day to this, admitted that the jet airplane is indeed the arrow.
