Item Description

A very well centered and very fine NH example of the 1C VIOLET BROWN QUEEN ELIZABETH II STAMP FROM THE 1953 KARSH ISSUE, WITH THE "G" OVERPRINT, IN A PLATE 1, UPPER RIGHT (UR) BLOCK OF 4.  Printed on horizontal wove paper giving a dull reaction under ultraviolet light and showing clear ribbing, though not strong.  2015 Unitrade values a VF-75 NH block at $4. However, blocks grading above VF-80 are scarce, given that the stamps were line perforated. The block offered here grades 84 as follows:
