Item Description
This divided back postcard depicts Colonel Edwin Drake and his original oil well, both during 1861, was mailed from Titusville, Pennsylvania to Passaic, New Jersey in 1907 franked by a one-cent blue green Benjamin Franklin issue of 1903, Scott 300. The stamp is tied to the card by a machine-1 American Flag machine cancellation.The flag cancel was struck twice and there is also a Passaic receiving circular date stamp.
Postcard Specs: '54604. Cohn & Oakleaf, Titusville, Pa. (Germany).'
Tiny ding left edge; slight machine cancel set off on picture side (see scans).
