Item Description

In a joint issue with China, the USPS honored the beautiful, but endangered, Cranes of two worlds - the Whooping Crane of the US and the Black-necked Crane of China.

This cachet was printed in dark green ink from a pencil drawing on a handmade envelope of light cream-colored and delicately threaded paper.

It is franked with both the US and CHINA versions of the two stamps, each pair cancelled with the FDoI round dater from their respective countries

This cover was serviced at the start of National Stamp Collecting Month, on World Post Day 1994.
