Item Description

This one-cent King Edward VII Government Stamped Postal Card was mailed from Dartmouth to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1911 and was cancelled by a duplex with a barred elliptical killer.

The blank side was hand-painted and pictures a yawning boy holding a candle who exclaims "Too tired to write."

The message on the other side mentions that the sender had a friend paint the design, although she doesn't provide the name of the artist who included their initials below the picture ('W.T.').
