Item Description

This is the federal duck stamp now at auction. The stamp, which features the design of the first federal duck stamp, is in very nice condition with good all-around margins including the natural straight-edge along the upper margin. A natural straight-edge on earlier U.S. stamps indicates the issue was either originally along an outer sheet margin (the tell is where the NSE occurs) or may have been in the upper (or lower) row of stamps when the larger pane was trimmed into four smaller panes for distribution to Post Offices across the nation. The reverse side is clean and without any notations/markings or other imperfections (please see the images).
