Egypt, Higgins & Gage 5a, unused. 1888 3m carmine on creme Postal Card with 1891 black bilingual "3 Milliemes 3" surcharge inverted, with 1993 Charles F. Haas Certificate which states the card is genuine and adds in the remarks section: "This card, with its surcharge properly placed, but inverted on the stamp vignette, is one of a small group of such cards thusly overprinted by the typeset cliche fixed on the bed of the printing press in an inverted position (the inversion is not a result of the unsurcharged card having been run through the press in an inverted position, as such an occurance would have placed the inverted surcharge at the lower left corner of the card.) The surcharge is of type M (Arabic surcharge beginning ½mm to right of French surcharge.) C.F.H." Very few exist.Fresh, bright, sharp edges & corners, rare & VF+.
