Item Description
l.Extremely scarce 10 Pesos carmine stamp from Uruguay’s 1932–33 Artigas series, printed by Waterlow & Sons, London.Catalogue References:
Ciardi/Yvert: #441
Scott: #384
This high-denomination stamp, featuring the bust of national hero José Artigas, is part of the engraved series based on the original design of No. 345. The entire series was printed in London by Waterlow, with the 10p carmine issued on July 12, 1933.
While catalog values remain modest, only 2,000 copies were ever printed, making this one of the hardest stamps to find in mint condition within the series.
️ This example is mint hinged, with visible gum and intact perforations. A key item for any advanced Uruguay, Latin America, or Waterlow collector.
