First day cover "the national guard of the u.S. ~ oldest military organization in u.S." 3c #1017 artcraft unaddressed fdc 1953

Nice, clean example of scott #1017 3c commemorative honoring "the national guard of the u.S.". Art craft cachet with a vignette of guardsmen in the field, with the unit leader holding a walkie-talkie to his ear at top, and "honoring / the / national guard" at the bottom. Postmarked "washington / d.C." at top / bottom with "mar / 2 / 9-am / 1953" in center. Minimal envelope discoloration and wrinkling due to age. Reverse of cover virtually mark-free, and envelope flap open with undisturbed glue. Because the flap glue is discolored due to age, i cannot call it "mint condition". Originally addressed with small label, label now gone and is unaddressed; however, some discoloration from label glue can be seen in lower right corner near bottom of scan.
