Nice example of 1960 first day of issue of scott #1164 4c "first automated post office / in the united states" commemorative stamp. Front and rear of cover are clean. Clean fdc postmark; does not obscure stamp in any way. Minimal, if any, discoloration. No creases, tears, or folds. A bit of wrinkling due to age; otherwise, excellent condition, off-white / light cream-colored (not bright white) envelope stock used for this fdc. Gum on envelope flap is undisturbed and in mint condition. Artcraft black and white cachet. Postmarked "providence / r.I." at top / bottom with "oct 20 / 9-am / 1960" in center with special uspod (u.S. Post office department) with jumping horse logo just below postmark.
