This is a valuable collection of Fiume mint and used stamps on 82 Dealer Cards with many better catalog values. Mint stamps are generally MH and general condition is FVF or better, some may have minor flaws, but in general the stamps are sound. Scott Catalog Value is approximately $625. Fiume History The former country of Fiume, now known as Rijeka in Croatia, had a fascinating and tumultuous history, particularly reflected in its philatelic legacy. From 1918 to 1924, Fiume issued its own stamps, starting with overprints on Hungarian stamps and later producing unique designs featuring local symbols and allegories. These stamps were issued under various administrations, including the Italian National Council, the Regency of Carnaro led by Gabriele d'Annunzio, and the Free State of Fiume.
