This first day cover commemorates Nebraska's Centennial of statehood (1867-1967). The left side features a black and white photograph of the Nebraska State Capitol building in Lincoln, with text reading "COMMEMORATING NEBRASKA Centennial 37th STATE OF THE UNION." The image is labeled "CAPITOL BUILDING LINCOLN, NEBRASKA" and includes a centennial seal or medallion that reads "SEAL OF NEBRASKA'S CENTENNIAL 1867-1967" with "CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF PROGRESS" around the edge.The right side displays a block of four 5-cent U.S. postage stamps commemorating Nebraska Statehood.
