France, 1760, stampless cover / 2 1/2 page folded letter from Thionville, to the Administrators of the city of Besancon, France, by Captain LaVanis of the Army of Moselle before Luxemberg describing the fighting. There is a red departure "55 THINVILLE" handstamp, a black manuscript "10" rate marking, and the letter is sealed with the seal of General de Brigade, Republic of France.
