Read more about the seller notes REMARKABLE EXTREME GREYISH SHADE of this most interesting lettering subsequently repaired. Presumed to be a VERY LATE WORN IMPRESSION IN BLACK prior to repair. The repaired state apparently only known repaired printed in red. VERY INTERESTING ITEM FOR THE CONNOISSEUR of repaired impressions. Note* that Stanley Gibbons do not list a Grey-Black shade from Plate 8, making this a VERY RARE item. In fact quite probably the greyest Penny Black we have ever handled. Tiny shallow hinge thin at top mentioned for accuracy. No other faults. ATTRACTIVE with very light cancellation. Overall Very Good/Fine for an item of this type & period. Please look at all the scans to help form your own opinion. Read Less about the seller notesGrade: VG/F (Very Good/Fine)
