A lot of five imperforate, gummed essays for a proposed stamp from the Deutsches Reich, prepared in 1922. Denomination: 20 Mark Event Commemorated: Deutsche Gewerbeschau Muenchen 1922 (German Trade Exhibition Munich 1922). Design: The design features the coats of arms of the German Reich (eagle) and the city of Munich (Münchner Kindl). Format: The lot consists of five different color trials: Olive green Carmine-rose Blue Black Grey Historical Context: These essays were created for a stamp intended to commemorate the German Trade Exhibition held in Munich in 1922. The 20 Mark face value reflects the early stages of the Weimar Republic's hyperinflation period. This design was not adopted.
