Germany lz127 zeppelin round the world flight arrived to late! Exhibit item!This cover was prepared for the round-the-world-flight and originated in hamburg. It was posted on august 14, 1929 and 50 pfennig in postage. The correct rate for the trip, friedrichshafen to freidrichshafen was 14 marks. The cover was forwarded by airmail: mit luftpost befördent postamt nr. 1 stuttgart and received the stuttgart backstamped on the same day. However, it arrived at friedrichshafen on the 15th too late for the departure of the graf zeppelin. It was handstamped: luftschiff "graf zeppelin" abgefahren zurück 16.8 = airship graf zeppelin returned august 16th the cover requested a friedrichshafen cancel, but the insufficient postage was recognized and it was returned200.00 to the sender.
