Item Description

The black Maltese Cross applied to a black stamp makes its identification very challenging, yet the cancellation is easy to recognize from the reverse. The lower corner letters "A" and "I" denote the stamp's original placement on the sheet from which it was removed. The location in this instance was the top row and 9th stamp from the left. And with exception of the lower left margin this stamp has very generous margins given the compactness of the imperforate sheets when originally produced.
