Item Description

Great Britain, Scott #560, used (o), 1968, Bridges Set, stamp shows the Tarr Steps, a stone slab clapper bridge across the River Barle in the Exmoor Area of Somerset; the bridge is 180 feet long and has 17 spans, the spans are capped with stone slabs that weigh up to two tons each; several theories claim that the bridge dates from the Bronze Age, but others date them from around 1400 AD; it has been designated as an English Heritage, Grade I scheduled monument; 4 pence, photogavure, perforated: 14½x14, no watermark, multicolored, Scott 2019 catalog value: 25¢, nicely centered, half circular, socked-on-the-nose border cancellation at the bottom of the stamp and just into the main image, sound back, one missing perforation at bottom left when viewed from the front, otherwise good perforations; filing code NB. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
