Item Description
Iceland issued four very popular World Wildlife Fund stamps in 1992 showing 4 phases in the life of the Gyrfalcon, their large and prized national bird.This handcolored Puffin Cachet shows a Gyrfalcon proudly waving the Iceland flag. The set of four stamps were cleanly struck with the official pictorial First Day of Issue cancel of December 3, 1992 that shows the WWF Panda logo.
The reverse shows that this cover was an Artist's Proof. Only 8 covers were sent to Iceland for servicing.
