Item Description
Independent Postal System of America (IPSA) was founded in 1968 by Tom Murray in Oklahoma. Was franchised in several cities across the United States. Initially delivered 3rd Class Mail (Advertising & Circulars not restricted by USPO); could not use mailboxes; hung bags from door handles. In 1971, expanded services to delivering magazines, samples, and telegrams. Issued first stamps, in an attempt to appeal to philatelists. Sued by National Association of Letter Carriers, and out of business by 1980.This set, is the third and final series issued. The "0" Stamp was issued to be used by the public to send letters to their Congressmen. First Day covers are available upon request. Full sheets of fifty (50) are available upon request. STOCK PHOTO
