The very first Indianapolis 500 race was won by Ray Haroun driving a Marmon Wasp . . but few know that an ACTUAL wasp on his tail was the real reason he drove so fast!This Pop-Up cover (that is regular-sized to fit in your album . . but opens up to more than 10" wide) is franked with both the 44¢ stamp honoring the Indy 500 Centennial, and the 17.5¢ definitive from the Transportation Coil series (Scott 2262) that depicts the very Marmon Wasp that Haroun drove. Both are canceled with the Digital Color Postmark that was the official first day of issue cancel for May 20, 2011.
