Item Description

Ireland (Éire), Scott #7550 (Hibernian #D119), used(o), 1982,  Sixth Definitive Series: Irish Architecture Down the Ages; stamp shows Cormac's Chapel, named after Cormac MacCárthaigh, the king of Munster, who commissioned the chapel in 1134; the chapel is decorated with round arches and chevron designs, the sandstone chapel is heavily decorated with carvings and frescoes, fragments which can still be seen today; 26 pence, offset lithography printed, no watermark, perforated: 15x14½, black, Scott 2019 catalog value: $1.00. Nicely centered, double strike cancel, both quarter circular, black-inked, single-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose cancels, the larger at the lower right half of the stamp and the smaller at the lower left corner, both images leave the main image largely clear,  sound back, good perforations, centering and image free cancel warrants a selling price premium; inventory listing code: MF. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer. The stamp you see will be the one you receive.
