Item Description

United States, Scott #2489, used(o), 1993, Flora and Fauna Series: Red Squirrel; the first stamp in the series appeared in 1990 and the last in 2001; the series contained 36 face different stamps; the red squirrel is one of the tree species of squirrels and is common throughout the world, they are the noisiest and most active of all squirrels, 29 cents, imperforated die cut, photogravure printed by the Dittler Brothers in panes of 18 and coils of 5004, non-water soluble self-adhesive gum, multicolored, Scott 2025 catalog value: 25¢, very slightly off-centered (extremely fine), light, large, three circular, red-inked, , double-rimmed, quarter clockwise turned, socked-on-the-nose cancel with considerable mailing details centered up and left from middle and extending down and over most of the front of the stamp and over into the main image, stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps of the period similarly mounted; mounting and centering warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery. I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
