Item Description
The Channel Islands nation of Jersey celebrated its arboreal treasures in 1997 with a set of six stamps featuring paintings of the island's trees.A puffin, quite a distance from his stomping grounds at the seashore, hides behind a tree on this handcolored cachet on a cover that bears three of the six stamps in the set: the low value and the two highest values.
The cover was neatly cancelled with two clean strikes of the official Jersey pictorial First Day of Issue cancel. The reverse shows this to be FDC #3 of only 6 covers sent to Jersey for servicing!
