Item Description

This Lot is a Macao (Macau) Scott #125a vertical bisect used on cover. Stamp is tied to cover by "25 AGO 10 / MACAO" circular date stamp and is addressed to Rev. J. M. Henning (sp?) in Canton, China. Stamp has deep blue coloring on bluish paper, with three good margins (as might be expected of bisect), wide on right and bottom margin but still good on top margin, and has nice perforations on all three sides.. Cover itself measures approximately 149 mm x 88 mm, has light amount of wear from postal handling both front and back), nice corners very lightly rounded, and nice edges, sharp and straight. Cover has been opened along top edge, light roughness along left top edge, and with small dent on right side edge. Cover is made from diagonally laid cream colored paper. Cover bears "CANTON / 26 AUG 10" receiving stamp on reverse side along with small hexagonal hand stamp with Chinese characters. Please see pictures front and reverse.
