“PAID / Wells, Fargo & Co's Express / OVER OUR LINES IN THE UNITED STATES”
Issued circa 1874–76, this envelope was used by Wells Fargo for expedited mail service across their domestic express network. The indicium is sharp and well-struck; the express imprint is bold and complete. Unused and unsealed.
