Item Description

This First Day Cover was mailed from North Avon, New Zealand to Newark, New Jersey franked by a 1d+1/2d and a 2d+1d Peter Pan Statue, London, Children's Health issue, Scott B26 and B27 respectively, tied to the envelope by a North Avon October 1, 1945 double circle date stamp.

The cachet depicts a young child with pail and shovel and reads 'For Them.' Printed below: 'Stamp Shop Design CH CH' (Christ Church).

The backflap is un-sealed and intact although the right free edge is bit weird, either mis-cut in production or with small tears (see scan). Christ Church return address printed on backflap. No contents or backstamps.

Light horizontal or vertical lines in the images are scanner artifact !
