Item Description

This cover was mailed from Olamon, Maine to Newport, Maine in 1882 (best guess by manipulating the image), franked by a 3-cent green George Washington large Bank Note issue of 1881, Scott 207 (straight edge with guide arrow top left corner), tied by a double circle Penobscot County double circle date stamp in duplex with a black shaded star killer (Cole STB-15).

Slit open right, the backflap is sealed and intact. Small edge tears (see scans). No contents or backstamps.

Light horizontal, diagonal or vertical lines in images are SCANNER ARTIFACT !
