This sheet of 10 stamps, with one invert variety to produce a Tete beche pair variety, comes from the notable Pineapple Post—a private local post established in Honolulu in 1977 by philatelist Craig Miyamoto. Inspired by earlier local posts like Herman Herst Jr.'s Shrub Oak venture in the 1950s, Miyamoto created the Pineapple Post as both a functional novelty and a promotional tool to highlight Hawaii’s history and tourist appeal.
