Rare 1933 Germany Poster Stamp Souvenir Overprint Vienna WIPA Josef Lohr Stand Number 193 Munich 2 M. Fürstenfelder Street 17 Unused Tiny Hinge Remnant 90% Original GumThis German Poster Stamp Was Issued In 1933 As A Souvenir Label For The WIPA (Internationale Postwertzeichen-Ausstellung) Philatelic Exhibition Held In Vienna, Austria, From June 24 To July 9, 1933. The Design Faithfully Reproduces The Classic 7 Kreuzer Bavarian Postage Stamp Issued Circa 1867, Featuring The Arms Of The Kingdom Of Bavaria Supported By Two Rampant Lions Beneath A Crown, Printed In Violet On Cream-Colored Paper. This Version, However, Is Not A Genuine Postal Issue, But Rather A Privately Commissioned Commemorative Label Overprinted In Black With Promotional Text For Josef Lohr, A Stamp Dealer From Munich Who Occupied Stand Number 193 At The WIPA Exhibition. The Overprint Reads “Wien 1933 WIPA Stand Nr. 193 Josef Lohr München 2 M. Fürstenfelderstr. 17.” The Label Is Embossed, Gummed, And Perforated, Indicating That It Was Professionally Printed As A Quality Souvenir For Distribution At The Exhibition. WIPA 1933 Is Widely Regarded As One Of The Most Important Philatelic Events Of The Interwar Period, With Numerous Dealers Producing Personalized Souvenirs, Many Of Which Were Never Officially Cataloged. The Design, Embossing, And Typography Are All Characteristic Of Authentic Dealer-Issued Souvenir Labels From The Exhibition. This Example Is Exceptionally Well-Preserved, With Centered Design, Strong Color, Clean Perforations, Original Gum, And No Visible Flaws. It Is A Scarce And Historically Significant Example Of Dealer Promotion Ephemera From A Major International Stamp Exhibition. Visible Text (Rewritten In Sentence Form): German: Wien 1933 WIPA Stand Nr. 193 Josef Lohr München 2 M. Fürstenfelderstr. 17 — English Translation: Vienna 1933 WIPA Stand Number 193 Josef Lohr Munich 2 M. Fürstenfelder Street 17.
