Hello! This auction is for a RARE MINT NEVER HINGED VERY FINE JOINT LINE STRIP OF 4 of Scott # 1303a, the 4c Lincoln horizontal coil definitive from the Prominent Americans series. This strip is Untagged, and is precanceled "DALLAS TEXAS", Precancel Stamp Society Style 71.The fifth edition of the Precancel Stamp Society Catalog of United States Bureau Precancels states: "Some collectors collect bureau precancels with gum. This is particularly challenging for issues before August 1967. Previously, sale of precancels to collectors was prohibited, and most dealers in bureaus soaked off the gum to avoid the appearance of violating postal regulations. As a result, there can be a large premium for full gum bureau issues, especially for issues prior to 1967".The strip is in excellent condition. There are no faults. The gum is immaculate--there are no gum skips or fingerprints.The 2022 Scott catalogue value for a joint line pair in the grade of VF is $250.00 and it is listed in italics reflecting the fact that this is transacted infrequently. Catalogue value for this strip (JLP and 2 singles) in the grade of VF is $267.50.It is very uncommon to find these stamps with mint never hinged gum.
