Item Description
The Claude C. Ries Chapter - a motley crew of Southern California FDC collectors - gathers every summer for a bountiful BBQ at the home of club member Ron Sobel. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Ice Cream and Watermelon are the staples!That's Ron and his dog Lady cooking hamburgers and hot dogs for two surprise guests from the nearby pond.
This cover was given out to attendees of the annual summer get-together and bears two of the early-July-issued Frog stamps. Their tied by a faux cancel detailing the date and location (it was 102˚ that day and just too hot to visit a post office)
It was a great party . . . and nobody croaked.
