Nascopie's main mission was to supply the Company's far-flung posts in Canada's North. Alone and without any of today's navigation & communications equipment, she battled icebergs, fog, storms and unchartered waters to deliver everything the posts needed to survive and trade. She was their lifeline, mail ship, office, medical clinic, court house and love boat. At first, she served only Labrador, the Strait & Hudson Bay. Then she advanced operations up the Baffin Coast, into the High Arctic, and over to Greenland.
