From the Stokinger correspondence. These are 1966 and 1969 fronts from letters. One contains Sc#3235-3237 (complete set) on 4k postal stationery. The other has Sc#3582, 3583, 3585 and 3587. Herbert E. Stokinger was a world-renowned scientist and Chief of the Toxicolory Section of the US Public Health Service, then in Cincinnati. Knowing that Prof. Stokinger collected stamps, his former Russian student used good commemoratives and souvenir sheets to frank a series of greetings letters and mailings of technical journals over a period of years. At that time, while mint and CTO Russian stamps of the period were freely available in the USA, postally used stamps were seldom seen here, as there was very little private or business correspondence between the USSR and the USA.
