Saar (Germany), Scott #322 (Michel #448), used(o), 1959, Alexander von Humboldt, (1769-1859), German naturalist and explorer; a major figure in classical period of physical geography and biogeography, which laid the foundations for Earth Sciences, and Ecology; the Humboldt Current off the west coast of South America was named after him; 15 francs, perforated: 13¾x14, engraved, watermarked: "DBP" (Deutsche Bundes Post) and rosettes in alternating reverse print and forward print multiples, in right and left diagonals crossing on the rosettes (Scott German watermark #304, Michel wasserzeichen #2), blue, Scott 2019 catalog value: 50¢. Nicely centered, light, quarter circular, black-inked, double-rimmed, socked-on-the-nose corner cancellation with mailing details bridge and some mailing details at the upper right and just into the main image, sound back, good perforations; centering and image free cancel warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer; the stamp you see will be the one you receive.Please review my terms of sale. If you are not ordering from the United States, there is a $US1.30 additional postage expense that needs to be added to the price of the stamp. If you are ordering from the United States, there is only a $US0.58 added postage expense. I will send the purchase by US first class mail, since the relatively low value of the stamp does not warrant signature or tracking mail. Hence the buyer assumes risk of loss or non-delivery.
