Item Description
Rudolf von Larisch (1856-1934) was an Austrian typographer, type designer, graphic designer and university lecturer. He was a founding member of the Austrian Werkbund, close associate of Carl Otto Czeschka. His publications and teaching activities on writing and lettering left a deep impression on the Wiener Werkstätte and subsequent art movements. Amongst others, he designed the typeface Pliny (1903). In his time he was honoured and considered to be at the cutting edge of font design designing and encouraging san serif fonts.Fine stamp. 80% original gum. Hinge to verso.
