Item Description

Here is a post office fresh example of the precanceled 5.9 cent Bicycle, Scott 1901a, from the first release of the transportation coil series. You will receive a mint never hinged plate number strip of five with plate number 3. There is no gap in the precanceled lines making it a no gap variety. The PNC3 pricing guide lists this no gap variety at $40 while current Scott lists it at $17.50. The pictured stamps are the stamps you will receive.  Please note, there is some slight ink transfer on the gum (mentioned for accuracy).
