Item Description
Emil Orlik (1870-1932) was a celebrated painter in both Germany and Austria and a founding member of the Vienna Secession, headed by Gustav Klimt. He became most interested in Japanese art and travelled extensively in the country. This lead to the creation of fine woodcuts in a heavily influenced style of which this rare stamp is a great example. Stamp bears his monogram. Produced in a variety of colourways.Fine stamp. 80% original gum. Hinge to verso.
